Day 24. First movie that comes to mind that you associate with D&D. Why?

Some might say Krull. I'm sticking to Willow. But why? The themes of magic done and being undone by unlikely heroes big and small.

Heroism is iconic of D&D gaming. The current meme of murderhobo is self-deprecating. We've all been in those groups backstabbing our friends in the party, looting dead friends corpses, stealing from tavern customers and robbing the nobles treasury all for XP or advancement or envy of the next level or thing you want.

But D&D PCs are still suppose to be heroic. The Temple of Elemental Evil is not about going to a evil place and looting it outright or for that singular purpose. The campaign is about doing something that no one else is brave enough, or stupid enough, to do. If one gets rich and elevates him or her-self in the process. Win-win.

Willow captures those themes very well.
