Day 2: First person YOU introduced to D&D? Which edition? THEIR first character?

Well, I'm not sure I have an answer to this, especially as it relates to D&D. If I can answer this at all it would most certainly be my sister.

My sister indulged my early DM/GM/Referee days with a game of Paranoia. In all its glorious, first edition, West End Games, Jim Holloway goodness. I specifically remember, for some reason, her clone (clones?) being outside Alpha Complex and, for some long forgotten reason, her PC was jumping up on dais of stone and firing a laser rifle at a dinosaur. It happened just like that. Yep.

By this period in my life I was fully immersed in the gaming culture and working at Dragonware Hobbies in Conyers, GA. I know I was the first hire outside the owner's personal clique at the time c. 1986. My interview being nothing more than a military vignette of a Pak 3.7cm behind a shattered brick wall, all Tamiya stock with DIY wire grass and debris.

By this time I had all the AD&D core books and was polishing a collection of new and shiny games as well. Many of these games still remain my favorites against all others and/or editions.
