Primer

Our "heroes" hail from the Reikwald (Ravendil Shadowstar), Pritzstock, Middenland (Martin Aulenbach), and the World's Edge Mountains (Thuramir Jorunnson).

The elf and priest met on the road to Bogenhäfen and befriended each other during a particularly tense moment at the gates when a belligerent group of farmers attempted to pass without paying levies on their goods.

They met another group of "treasure hunters" seeking a healer and scout for a trip to Schilderheim and rumors of elven ruins lost in the depths of the Reikwald.

The adventure would find them face with elven prejudices, a lynch mob, mysterious cultists digging in the elven ruins, and a sponsor in league with grander Ruinous Powers. All for a prize hidden in the ruins: a perfected sphere of warpstone in an underground, elven "prison."

Overcoming the dark purpose of their sponsor, the heroes returned to Altdorf and reported the cultists and the dark power beneath the ground.

Joined by Templar Knights of the Church of Sigmar and their Dwarven sergeant Thuramir Jorunnson, the heroes set back to the ruins with arms. The trip found them driving Beastmen from a burning Rottefach and returning to a more sinister plot laid by mythical ratmen turned real with influence in the very ranks of the knights of Sigmar! Betrayed by the captain of the knights, the heroes and loyal knights killed the walking rats (of Clan Moulder) and their mutant beast (the seemingly resurrected form of their former sponsor left for dead!).

The heroes and two knights returned, battered, but alive. The perfected sphere of warpstone lost only to them and a map they burned in a brief ceremony on the deck of the boat that bore them to Altdorf.

The heroes sought new adventure and found it in the unlikely charge of a tavern keeper in Weidmarkt: return a Rune of Fortitude given as a gift to the tavern keep when he was garrison officer and dwarven clan emissary at Helmgart.

They took the charge and began a long trip to Helmgart on the road though Bogenhäfen. On the way out of the Altdorf, a street urchin gave a small smooth stone to Martin. Sensing a magical enchantment on the stone, the priest kept it close but not on his person. The giver of the stone was lost in the crowd.

Fortune soon smiled on the heroes and they found employment with a caravan merchant on the way to Helmgart. With only a knight errant Jones Mendy and his entourage returning from Middenheim and the Storm of Chaos, as guard, the heroes would be welcome additions. A devout follower of Handrich, the merchant would find himself the target of Sigmar zealots. Zealots willing to commit suicide to destroy any followers of false deities. Heroes to the core, the heroes saved the merchant (the dwarf throwing himself and his shield in front of the bomber), killing the zealot friar, and holding another zealot for the ropes of the roadwardens. The heroes would soon find their names preceded them east.

The caravan would soon depart again for Helmdorf, passing through Bogenhäfen, to trade for new goods (profits poor as the merchant and several other devout Handrich merchants did not complete a ritual in the tavern the night of the bombing; in Bogenhäfen the merchant would perform another ritual that would ensure profits in Helmgart). The three days in Bogenhäfen by the dwarf and priest would be spent by the elf in the woods of the Reikwald with kindred hunting beastmen herds.

On an evening of respite in Osburg, the priest would have a dream so real it could only have been enchanted. Indeed, Martin would learn that the stone given him in Altdorf bore the message to him while he slept.

The road to Helmgart would bring rumors of plague in Helmgart. Throngs of passers on the road would tell of the garrison incapacitated from the plague. Thousands dead in the street. Greenskin bandits, wolf riders, and worse, murdered refugees. Peasants fleeing Helmgart would beg blessings from the priest as well. And for an offering, he obliged! To great success. Earning more than just the fee for traveling with the caravan.

The approach to Helmgart found the caravan beset by goblins on wolves and foot! The knight, priest and dwarf would fight to life's edge defeating the bandits, while far ahead of the caravan the elf would kill a lone wolf rider scout.

Finally in Helmgart, the rumors proved greatly exaggerated, but true in that the garrison was beset by plague. The source of the plague would be found to be a well in the garrison. The plague a particularly virulent strain of the cough.

And another surprise would await the adventurers: the rune would be revealed to the current dwarven emissary and the dwarven hero, a runebearer, would be told it was never gifted to the tavern keep but stolen! A grudge recorded in the Grey mountain's clan Book of Grudges!
