Warpstone Fane

Redirected from Elven Warpstone Prison

The warpstone fanes are places of mysterious containment of perfect spheres of black warpstone. Ancient in origin and purpose, the fanes appear one hand to be temples or shrines to the spheres, but the mysterious glyphs appear to be restraining ominous power of indeterminate nature.

Druchii and Skaven have taken interest in the fanes. Whether directly or peripherally, both parties seem involved in finding the fanes and exploiting the treasure, physical or academic, contained.

Schilderheim (Empire)

Within the Reikwald Forest near Schilderheim lay the ruin of a long forgotten Elven ruin. Visited by neither man, nor elf, it had gone undisturbed for centuries.

Dark powers, however, learned that hidden within the depths of this ruin, and hidden by mysterious craft, lay a powerful artifact: a perfect sphere of black warpstone. The heroes learned of this artifact when led there by the mutant Hartungus "Hart" von Roftman. Each attempt since, by the party to secure or deliver this artifact to safe hands has met with disaster.

A recent landslide has buried the site of the entrance, and the only known maps to its location have been destroyed. The prison is now a secret that the party has agreed is one best kept buried in the dark.

Bordeleaux (Bretonnia)

Travelling with the Questing Knight Joans Mendy, the heroes have discovered another fane beneath Bordeleaux. Unlike the original fane, otherwise intact, this fane was being actively excavated by troglodytes in the service of a Druchii sorceress.

The sorceress appeared to be completing her study of the glyphs on the walls of the fane when the heroes arrived in force. Abandoning the fane, the sorceress summoned a daemon to delay her pursuers. She appears to have escaped.
